Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park (TARP) Marine Park is conveniently located 15 minutes boat ride from Kota Kinabalu. TARP comprises 5 islands that offer an extensive range of diving experiences on good quality fringing reefs (thanks to the area’s protected status)
which are full of marine life. It is an ideal area for a safe, and enjoyable introduction to scuba diving. The PADI Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) Experience takes one day to complete during which you will have short education session, learn some diving skills and enjoy two leisure dives. A great way to have a try dive in the tropical waters of Sabah!

Example Diving Trip Itinerary

• 9:00am - 9:15am     :  Pick up from hotels (for hotels in central Kota Kinabalu) and                                    transfer to Jesselton Point.
• 9:30am                    :  Boat departs from Jesselton Point, boat transfer to Tunku Abdul                                    Rahman Marine Park.
• 10:00am                  :  Visit Sabah Parks on one of the Islands to pay diving permits                                      (conservation fee).
• 10:30am                  :  Start your PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience with a short                                    briefing session.
• 11:00am                  :  Dive 1 starts! Here you will learn some diving skills and enjoy a                                    leisure dive.
• 12:30pm – 2:30pm :  Enjoy a long lunch break
• 2:30pm                   :  Dive 2! Enjoy a leisure dive along a pretty coral reef.
• 4:00pm                   :  Arrive at Jesselton Point and be transferred back to your hotel (for                                   hotels in central Kota Kinabalu).

• Package does not include diving permit fee of RM20++ per person for Malaysians and RM50++ per person for non-Malaysians.

• There are some pre-requisites to take part in a PADI DSD:
  • You need to be aged 10 years and over
  • Any participant under 18 years is supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.
  • You need to be comfortable in the water and have basic swimming skills.
  • You should also be in good overall general health to dive, particularly your respiratory and circulatory system. You will be asked to self-certify before starting your PADI Discover Scuba Diving Experience.
