5D4N Mt Kinabalu Climbing Package (Timpohon)

Day 1 : Airport – City Tour – Poring Hot Spring – Kinabalu Park


Meet and greet at the airport, then proceed for a city tour. Among the must see is the Tun Mustapha Building (formerly known as Sabah Foundation Building - an architectural marvel as one of the few hanging structures in the world); the Chinese Buddhist Temple and pass through the magnificent site of the State Mosque with its majestic domes aligned with gold motifs.

After city tour, take an adventurous 2 hours drive across mountainous Crocker Range with views of rolling hills and lush green countryside up to Kundasang where you will be amazed by the majestic Mount Kinabalu, the fourth tallest mountain in South East Asia.

Continue to Poring Hot Spring. Here may dip in the revitalizing hot sulfuric springs which is said to have healing properties for the skin or go on a short trek into the forest to the Canopy Walkway for a bird's eye view of the tropical rainforest. The Canopy Walkway is suspended between trees at the height of 40 meters and offers an excellent opportunity to observe wildlife in the canopy. Then proceed to Kinabalu Park headquarter to check in. After dinner, free at own leisure.

Day 2 : Kinabalu Park HQ – Timpohon Gate – Laban Rata

After breakfast, register yourself with the park authorities and collect your packed lunch which you can enjoy on the way up to the mountain. Then, off to Timpohon Gate where climbers will start the adventurous leg up to Laban Rata with an experienced mountain guide. During your climb, be amazed by the thousand species of vegetation ranging from the lower and upper Sabah’s Tropical Rainforest.

Laban Rata will be the first check-in point of the climb. Here one can rest, regenerate, share experience with other mountain climbers and just enjoy the view of the misty mountain top. Dinner will be served at a restaurant in Laban Rata. Free at own leisure.

Day 3 : Laban Rata – Summit – Kinabalu Park – KK Lodge/Hotel

0200hrs – an early rise as one would need to reach submit for sunrise. Be sure to be prepared with torchlight and warm clothing. Upon reaching Low’s Peak – the highest point of Mount Kinabalu, be awed by the view of the first burst of sunrise in the distance, a view that many have stated as indescribable. Begin to descend to Laban Rata for breakfast. Head back to Timpohon Gate.

A transfer will take you to Kinabalu Park Headquarter to collect your certificate for completion of the climb. After hi-tea, proceed back to Kota Kinabalu and check in to Rainforest Lodge/similar. Free at own leisure.

Day 4 : Breakfast – Sapi Island with BBQ Lunch - Hotel

After breakfast, After breakfast, proceed to jetty and take a speed boat ride to Sapi Island, one of the five islands within the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park which is gifted with pure white sandy beaches making it a popular destination to relax or participate in the many water sport activities such as jet skiing, snorkeling, aquatic flying fish, banana boating and parasailing. Then for lunch, you shall be served an array selection of barbecued seafood. After lunch, take a boat ride back and proceed to hotel. Free at own leisure.

Day 5 : Breakfast - Airport

After breakfast, free at own leisure until time to transfer to airport for your flight departure.

REMARKS
  • Flexibility on Day 4 itinerary:
    1. Guest may change Island Tour to Kiulu White Water Rafting at same price.
    2. Guest may change Island Tour to Padas White Water Rafting at an additional fee of RM 80.00 nett per person.
    3. Guest may change Island Tour to Free & Easy Day at a discount of RM 120.00 nett per person.
    4. Guest may upgrade from Rainforest Lodge to 3* hotel at an additional fee of RM 120.00 nett per person.

  • Child’s rate for mountain climbing package:

    1. Malaysian : Deduct RM 20.00 nett per child from adult’s rate.
    2. International : Deduct RM 50.00 nett per child from adult’s rate.

This is because, for the mountain climbing packages, child is considered as 1 pax (no difference in rate for accommodation and meal). The only difference is the climbing permit and entrance fees for guest age below 18 years old.

  • For flight details, we would like to advise guest to arrive before 12noon in order to visit Poring on Day 1 as Canopy Walk, Butterfly Farm and other activities closes at 4pm daily. To visit Poring Hot Spring on Day 3 after climb is not possible due to the same reason as each climber takes different time to reach at the Kinabalu Park HQ (average between 1pm – 4pm).
