If it's an adventure that a little more refined and certainly less strenuous that's wanted, try bird watching! Sabah's vast expanses of rainforests are home to many species of exotic bird life and some extremely rare ones. Due to its location on the cross-migratory path of certain bird species, Sabah has emerged as a bird watching haven.

Meet and greet at airport/hotel early in the morning to Kinabalu Park which is a 2 hour drive across mountainous Crocker Range with views of rolling hills and lush green countryside up to Kundasang where you will be amazed by the majestic Mount Kinabalu, the fourth tallest mountain in South East Asia.
On arrival, proceed for a bird walk around the park headquarters. At an elevation of 1500m, it is a sheer birding experience as you search for the often heard but hard to spot Golden Nape Barbet endemic to Mount Kinabalu. An awe inspiring sight is the colourful Short Tail Green Magpie. As you continue along the trail, you will be greeted by the Chestnut Capped Laughing Thrush, Borneo Treepie, Indigo Flycatcher, White Throated Fantail.
   
Then proceed for lunch at park and thereafter continue birding along the numerous trails. The White Crowned Forktail flying through and fro the Liwagu River. The afternoon should be good for the Grey Throated Babbles, Mt. Wren Babbles, Blue Shortwing and the elusive Crimson Headed Partridge, another Kinabalu endemic. A sight of the Whitehead’s Trogon concludes the day. Then proceed to check into Kinabalu Pine Resort/similar, where you will enjoy a steamboat dinner.

Early morning, bird walk at park as many of the babbles and warblers tend to be active at this time of the day. After breakfast, proceed to Poring Hot Springs which is about 1 hour drive from the park where you can dip in the revitalising hot sulphuric springs which is said to have healing properties for the skin. In Poring, one can also experience the walk across the 41meter high Canopy Walkway which will provide you with a canopy view of the Borneo Rainforest flora and if one is lucky spot wildlife which habituates the area. Then you shall head back to Kota Kinabalu City where you may check into hotel to freshen up before dinner.

After breakfast, we shall take approximately 30 minutes ride to reach to Lok Kawi Wildlife Park. Here you shall see Borneo and Malaysia wild animals such as proboscis monkey, Asian elephant, rhino, hornbill birds, tiger and many more including the world’s one and only look a like mankind mammal, the Orang Utans. After tour proceed for lunch then back to hotel to rest before being ushered to Sabah’s renowned seafood dinner accompanied with a colourful local cultural show.
