9.30am - Meet at the hotel lobby and proceed to the famed headhunters village - Monsopiad Cultural Village. The journey will take about 30 minutes from Kota Kinabalu passing humble villages and paddy fields. Welcome drink, native Rice Wine, will be served upon your arrival. The cultural village was named after a Kadazan-Dusun warrior who defended the village and its people against pirate invasion long ago. Presently, it is the only place where visitors can still experience the head-hunters’ way of living.

During your visit, you will get to see the Longhouses, Native Paddy Harvesting Methods, a Hanging Bridge and many more. A colourful and a vibrant cultural dance performance will also be presented by the local community - feel free to participate in some of the dances.

Monsopiad, a head-hunter in his days, collected heads’ of his enemies as “trophies”. Today, the 42 heads are safely kept as displays on the rooftop in one of the huts. After a tour around the Monsopiad Cultural Village, proceed back to Kota Kinabalu.
