9.30am - Meet in hotel lobby and proceed to The Monsopiad Cultural Village, which was founded in 1996 in remembrance of the great Kadazan warrior and head hunter, Monsopiad. The Monsopiad Cultural Village aims to be more than a living museum, educating the younger generations of the forefathers who had fought to protect the Kadazan people. Throughout Monsopiad’s life, he had taken 42 skulls as a proof of his prowess. Now the skulls are being looked after by his direct descendants, who adhere faithfully to the old customs. You can also taste the tapai (rice wine) which is a drink of fermented rice and watch a colourful & a vibrant cultural dance performance by the local community. Not far from The Monsopiad Cultural Village is The Lok Kawi Wildlife Park.

Here, you’ll be able to “rub shoulders” with a distant cousin of humanity - Orang Utan. Known as “Man of the Jungle” by natives, these nearly extinct wonders of nature can only be found in certain parts of Malaysia and Indonesia. Wildlife parks like Lok Kawi Wildlife Park give us a chance to have a glimpse of these magnificent creatures.
