In Search of Primates

~*~ Welcome to Sandakan, Sabah ~*~

8:00am Meet and greet at Sandakan Airport or hotel lobby then take an approximate 30 minutes to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center. Proceed to the free roaming area feeding platform to witness the feeding of Orang Utans at 10:00am.

At this center, observe man’s closest relative “the Orang Utan” being rehabilitated to become wild in their natural habitat and experience a walk in the Tropical Lowland Dipterocarp Forest of Borneo.

11:00am depart Sepilok and transfer to Sandakan jetty for an hour boat cruise up to the Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary. This is a wonderful journey of discovery which starts from the waters of Sulu Sea of Sandakan Town through a magnificent scenery of the Mangrove Forest, where you will take your lunch at Abai Jungle Restaurant.

After lunch, free to explore at our nature boardwalk before cruising down river in search of primates especially the Endemic Proboscis Monkeys, birds and other wildlife. Return to hotel / airport for your flight departure.

REMARKS Recommended Personal Gear: Insect repellent, raincoat, hat, binocular and sun screen (sweat proof). Use good walking shoes and comfortable cotton T-shirt with long or short pants
